Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Thomas Griego was publicly admonished Thursday by California’s judicial disciplinary agency for displaying “a pattern of intemperate behavior toward self-represented litigants.”

Over a period of seven months last year, Griego derided parties who appeared before him in small claims trials with rude comments, gratuitous remarks and, on occasion, a demand that litigants respond with “Yes, your honor” or “No, your honor,” instead of just a “yes” or “no,” the Commission on Judicial Performance said.
