Harvard College filed a complaint on Monday against Samsung, accusing the consumer electronics giant of using its patented technology to create components included in devices such as the Galaxy smartphones.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleged that Samsung  violated two patents for processes developed by Harvard chemist Roy G. Gordon and his colleagues. Gordon’s work includes development of processes used commercially to make thin films for semiconductor electronics and other items, it said.
