Plaintiffs bar-backed legislation that places new disclosure requirements on arbitration companies and the neutrals who work there is headed to the governor’s desk.

SB 940 passed out of the state Senate on Wednesday on a 31-6 vote. The bill mandates that arbitrators announce whether their firm over the past two years solicited work from a party, or a lawyer to that party, currently in a case before them. It also bars an arbitration firm or neutral from offering future services to a party or lawyer while their case is pending.
