Doubling down on U.S. expansion, Kennedys has added two new offices to the West Coast, announcing this week openings in both Los Angeles and Seattle.

The London-headquartered firm, which will run its U.S. office count up to 12 and total office count to 47 with the moves on Tuesday, noted increasing client demand on the West Coast since opening in San Francisco in 2020. The firm said in a statement the openings were part of “ongoing strategic expansion” in the U.S., including after planting a flag in South Florida earlier this year. The firm’s partners in the new locations focus on civil litigation and litigate insurance coverage issues.

“Kennedys offices in North America have seen strong growth over the last three years, with a 62% increase in headcount. We now have 215 attorneys servicing our clients across the U.S.,” said Meg Catalano, regional managing partner in the U.S., in a statement. “The opening of these new offices expands our physical presence on the West Coast, allowing us to service increasing client demand across the region.”

The Los Angeles office will begin with four attorneys, including partner Shane Wasser, special counsel Zina Yu and two associates. Wasser joined the firm in 2021 and Yu last year, according to their LinkedIn profiles.

The Seattle office will start with five attorneys, the firm stated, including partner Terri Sutton, special counsel Sally Clements, and three associates. Sutton joined Kennedys in August 2023 and Clements joined last March.
