An explosion inside a state courthouse in Santa Maria on Wednesday morning injured five people and shut down operations, according to law enforcement officials.
Authorities received an emergency call at 8:48 a.m. about an explosion inside the Santa Barbara County Superior Court on Cook Street in Santa Maria, according to Raquel Zick, a public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department.
