The Committee of Bar Examiners voted Friday to allow applicants to sit for future bar exams, as well as an experimental test scheduled next month, outside the Golden State.

Applicants who sit for California's February 2025 bar exam or an experimental test the bar will offer in November will be able to do so remotely or in testing centers, including in locations outside the Golden State.
The Committee of Bar Examiners on Friday voted 8-3 to allow testing almost anywhere, so long as test-takers abide by the rules governing a new vendor platform, which will administer the exam simultaneously across all time zones, online and in-person.
