News Corp.'s Dow Jones and the New York Post have sued Perplexity AI, alleging that the San Francisco startup has used their copyrighted content to fuel its "answer engine" and is harming their brands by citing them as sources for false information.

The complaint, filed by Torridon Law on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, asks the court to enjoin Perplexity from using plaintiffs' intellectual property and to destroy any of their copyrighted work or derivative content that Perplexity may have.
