Alternative fashion chain Hot Topic, its pop culture apparel branch BoxLunch and former plus-size clothing subsidiary Torrid were hit with a data breach class action on Thursday for allegedly failing to protect their customers' personal information from a cyberattack that occurred in October.

The data breach is linked to vulnerabilities in the retailers' cloud computing data warehousing software Snowflake, which is currently the target of ongoing multidistrict security breach litigation consolidated in the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana.
