California Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero on Thursday pledged to provide safe courthouses for all court users in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's promise to deport mass numbers of immigrants in the United States without authorization.
In her annual meeting in San Francisco with reporters, Guerrero said judicial branch administrators are exploring what they can do to discourage federal immigration detentions at the state's courthouses but conceded "there are limitations in terms of what can be done."
