Alameda County leaders late Tuesday chose Superior Court Judge Ursula Jones Dickson to be the next district attorney, filling the vacancy created when voters recalled Pamela Price in November.

Jones Dickson, a former Alameda County deputy district attorney, was one of two candidates favored by proponents of the Price recall. Jones Dickson beat out Annie Esposito, a Contra Costa County assistant DA; Venus Johnson, a chief deputy state attorney general; Latricia Louis, an Alameda County deputy counsel; Elgin Lowe, an Alameda County senior deputy district attorney; and Alameda City Attorney Yibin Shen.
