LOS ANGELES — George Borkowski, a lawyer who represented the record company plaintiffs in high-profile copyright infringement cases against Napster Inc. and Grokster Ltd., has joined Venable’s Los Angeles office to serve as co-chairman of the firm’s national IP litigation group.

Borkowski, who was founder and chairman of the intellectual property and technology practice at L.A.-based Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, where he was a member of the governing board, joins the Washington, D.C.-based firm as a partner.
