SACRAMENTO — Los Angeles County Superior Court has retained Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher partner Theodore Boutrous Jr. in a last-ditch effort to retain county-provided benefit packages for its judges.
Boutrous asked an assigned judge late Monday to grant the court intervenor status so it can fight a recent appellate ruling that found Los Angeles County’s practice of offering each judge up to $46,000 in insurance, educational stipends and other perks illegal.
