The court held that an affidavit by an employee of a state employment department that there was no record that a defendant on trial for drug sales who possessed a large amount of cash when arrested had received taxable wages during the relevant period was not testimonial and therefore was admissible under the Sixth Amendment.
Responding to a domestic violence call, police found Robert Norwood lying on his bed amid the odor of marijuana. He admitted smoking and was arrested. Search of his pockets produced $2500 cash and crack cocaine.
