SAN FRANCISCO — Kathleen Banke got a rude welcome to Alameda County Superior Court soon after joining the bench two years ago. Not from her fellow judges, but from someone she could potentially have been judging.

It seems that a man burglarized her car and those of five other judges while they were attending a school for new judges in Oakland. Banke will now serve as a witness when the case goes to trial.
