SAN FRANCISCO — Federal Circuit watchers now have a chance to see how the Obama administration will approach their tribunal.

On a court replete with potential vacancies, last week Federal Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Alvin “Tony” Schall told the White House of his intention to take senior status, effective Oct. 5. Schall had been appointed in 1992 by President George H.W. Bush.
