SAN FRANCISCO — Employment lawyer Troy Valdez liked to be in court, but as a senior associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, he felt he was losing potential clients to smaller firms or boutiques like Littler Mendelson.
“I was spending less time in the courtroom,” Valdez said. “When it came time for clients to pick a litigator, that was a rate-driven decision, and a lot of times we were excluded from that.”
