Ninety-one former attorneys general, including California’s own Bill Lockyer and John Van de Kamp, have former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman’s back: The bipartisan group of ex-prosecutors just filed an amicus curiae brief Friday urging the U.S. Supreme Court to reconsider the convictions related to Siegelman’s appointment of campaign donor Richard Scrushy.

Former New York Attorney General Robert Abrams, a partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, is one of the ringleaders who has been building up the list of signatories since the first letter of support went out to House and Senate judiciary committee leaders — with 44 names.
