SACRAMENTO — A group of judges unhappy with the monthly statewide court closures scheduled to start Wednesday has launched a new organization to rival the 80-year-old California Judges Association.
About two dozen judges met last week in San Diego — where the CJA and State Bar were holding their annual meetings — to launch the Alliance of California Judges. Founders say they want a new, more critical voice to challenge what they see as troubling policies promulgated by the Judicial Council.
