JNE didn’t use required criteria in ratings process

I read with interest your [Oct. 2] editorial ” Back Off the JNE Commission ” regarding the criticism leveled at the Judicial Nominees Evaluation commission during the hearing on the nomination of Sen. Charles Poochigian to the Fifth District. As a member of the Commission on Judicial Appointments as administrative presiding judge of the Fifth District, I believe I have some insight into the process having sat not only on Sen. Poochigian’s confirmation hearing but also on eight others over the years.
