SAN FRANCISCO &3151; Facing the Commission on Judicial Performance on Wednesday, a Sacramento judge tried to fend off the prospect of severe punishment.

Andrew Blum, trial counsel for the CJP, urged the commissioners to remove or at least censure Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Peter McBrien, saying that the judge “has not been candid.” Blum argued that McBrien hadn’t acknowledged he had done anything wrong and that he has been inconsistent in answering questions about his alleged wrongdoing.
