SACRAMENTO — Justice Ronald Robie of the Third District Court of Appeal will chair a new committee charged with offering ethical guidance to judges, the state Supreme Court announced Monday.

The 12-member Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions will have broad authority to issue formal written opinions that will be available to the public, as well as private, informal written guidance and oral advice to judicial officers and candidates.
