Levi Strauss & Co. is an American business name that needs little introduction. Since 1873, the San Francisco-based clothing company has manufactured what it calls “the first blue jean” and became a major force in the business casual clothing movement with the creation of the Dockers brand in the 1980s.

Hilary Krane joined Levi Strauss in 2006 after a 10-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was partner and assistant general counsel. Before that she spent four years as a litigation associate at the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and one year as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Milton Shadur, also in Chicago. She has degrees from Stanford University and University of Chicago Law School. She reports to Levi Strauss CEO John Anderson.
