SAN FRANCISCO — The department determined that a commercial printing company, Insync Marketing Solutions, shouldn’t have been exempt from the law just because it was looking for a buyer before it closed last winter. “In that situation all employers need to be very careful and take a close look at their mandatory obligations under the WARN Act,” Labor Commissioner Angela Bradstreet said.

Last February Insync shut down the Los Angeles County facility where it had employed about 230 workers, according to the letter by department Director John Duncan explaining the decision.
