SAN FRANCISCO — Lawrence Brown, the former No. 2 prosecutor in the Eastern District’s U.S. attorney’s office, was named to the Sacramento County Superior Court bench on Thursday.

The former executive director of the California District Attorneys Association, Brown joined the U.S. attorney’s office headed by McGregor Scott in 2003. After Scott left for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Sacramento office early last year, Brown served as interim U.S. attorney until President Obama named Benjamin Wagner to the post in November.
