For entertainment lawyer Bonnie Eskenazi, a case just doesn’t get any better than the wrangle between New Line Cinema and the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Tolkien heirs sued New Line for breach of contract in 2008, saying they were owed more than $150 million for their contractual share of the $6 billion generated by the The Lord of The Rings film trilogy. Eskenazi represented two trusts, one set up by the Tolkien family for the author’s heirs, the other established as a charity.
