Fenwick & West advised Diamond Foods Inc. in its $615 million deal for potato-chip company Kettle Foods Inc. The Silicon Valley firm’s press release joked that it was “a different kind of chip deal” — no doubt saltier than silicon.

Nut-purveyor Diamond bought Kettle from Lion Capital, a private equity firm in London. Fenwick also did work on Diamond’s $600 million credit deal and public offering that will be used to fund the Feb. 25 deal.
