SACRAMENTO — The Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Wednesday overturned the murder conviction of a Bay Area man on the grounds that Santa Clara County prosecutors withheld evidence from the defense.
“A pattern of nondisclosure permeated the proceedings” against Felix Solorio Valdovinos, Judge Betty Fletcher wrote for a unanimous three-judge panel. “In so doing, the government deprived Valdovinos of his due process rights.”
