LEGAL TEAM AND OUTSIDE COUNSEL
General Counsel Daniel Carl, 57, oversees a team of 24 attorneys and 20 staff. His department is responsible for all of Sybase’s legal affairs as well as stock administration and public affairs. Seven attorneys work with Carl in the Dublin office, with the rest in various locations around the United States and the world. As his legal team has grown, Carl has maintained a policy of bringing almost all legal work in house. “If we have the ability to work on matters more efficiently in house, we bring it in house,” Carl said.
