SAN FRANCISCO — Legislation to extend whistle-blower protections to 22,000 state judiciary employees passed out of an Assembly policy committee Tuesday with bipartisan support.
A unanimous Judiciary Committee approved AB 1749 , which would shield from retaliation court workers who flag illegal or wasteful actions in the workplace. Similar protections already exist for more than 200,000 California state workers. The bill, if signed into law, would cover employees throughout the judicial branch.
