SACRAMENTO — The teen entertainer has already shaped cyberbullying law by suing peers who mocked and threatened him online. Now the boy identified only as “D.C.” in court papers may make related law in the Capitol.

Assembly Bill 1680 would ban arbitration agreements that force parties to give up their rights to sue over a hate crime. The bill, sponsored by the gay rights group Equality California, passed out of the Assembly on Thursday.
