LEGAL TEAM AND OUTSIDE COUNSEL

Andrew Kim, 39, was Netgear’s sole in-house attorney for several months after being named general counsel in 2008. Arguing that a more robust in-house team would cut costs and “pay for itself,” Kim eventually persuaded the company to allow him to hire an associate general counsel and a director of intellectual property law to join him in San Jose. “It is a lot better than just me,” Kim said of his three-member team. “But there is still a lot of work.”
