SAN FRANCISCO — A San Jose lawyer facing federal money laundering charges got a break this week when six months were lopped off an unrelated, 1-year State Bar suspension recommended last year for failure to properly represent clients.

Monday’s decision by the State Bar Court’s review panel found Jamie Harley culpable of nine counts of misconduct in six clients’ cases, but recommended reducing her suspension to six months because of good character, candor and “nearly two decades of discipline-free practice.”
