The California Supreme Court affirmed a judgment of conviction and penalty. The court held that the actions of jurors in attempting to reenact a shooting so as to determine the positions of shooter and victim did not introduce new evidence into their deliberations and was thus not misconduct. Similarly, a single juror’s attempt to diagram the shooting using his home computer was also not misconduct.

Following a robbery, Steve Collins was charged with murder, robbery, and kidnapping for robbery. Kidnapping-murder and robbery-murder special circumstances were alleged.
