SACRAMENTO — California’s election regulators announced late Monday that they will not launch a formal investigation into claims by Democratic attorney general candidate Kamala Harris that rival Chris Kelly failed to properly report a Facebook stock sale and related loan.
“After review of the complaint and material provided by Chris Kelly, we have found insufficient evidence to warrant further investigation,” Roman Porter, executive director of the Fair Political Practices Commission, wrote in a letter to Harris campaign attorney James Sutton.
