SAN FRANCISCO — The O’Malley family dynasty hit a speed bump on election night, as Dan O’Malley, son of the county’s former district attorney and the brother of the Alameda DA, was running behind in the Contra Costa DA’s race.
With votes from 619 of 628 precincts tallied up, fellow prosecutor Mark Peterson had about 47 percent of the vote — not enough to avoid a runoff — while O’Malley had about 36 percent.
