SAN FRANCISCO — A company that installs and monitors red light cameras in nearly 70 California cities and counties wants the state Supreme Court to depublish a ruling that puts the use of such systems in doubt.

Redflex Traffic Systems Inc., the self-described largest provider of traffic photo enforcement technology in the United States, filed the request Thursday, saying the ruling by an appellate panel of the Orange County Superior Court causes “public and judicial confusion and misapplies the rules of evidence.”
