SACRAMENTO — For 10 years, Judge Paul Zellerbach enjoyed a bustling criminal law calendar, a nice paycheck and the promise of a decent pension with another 10 years of service on the Riverside County Superior Court.
In February, however, Zellerbach set all that aside for the chance to become Riverside County’s district attorney — and to be labeled a criminal-coddling “Judge Marshmallow” by his opponent.
