Leila Qutami and Martin Nguyen have joined Keller and Heckman as litigation associates. Qutami, who was previously with Bingham McCutchen, received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2007. Nguyen, who comes to the firm from Casas Riley & Simonian, graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2003.
The National Association of Women Judges is honoring California Chief Justice Ronald George and Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein partner Kelly Dermody. George is this year’s recipient of NAWJ’s Joan Dempsey Klein award, given to a judge “who brings distinction to their office and exemplifies the association’s goals. Past recipients have included Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sandra Day O’Connor and William Brennan. Dermody is the winner of the Florence K. Murray Award for non-judges who have “opened doors for women attorneys and demonstrated a commitment to NAWJ’s goals.” Past winners include Janet Reno and Judith Resnik. NAWJ plans to hold its annual conference in San Francisco on Oct. 13 to 17.
