SAN FRANCISCO — In a bid to enter the lucrative data-center storage market, and catch up with rivals, Dell Inc. said on Monday that it will buy the data-storage company 3PAR for $1.15 billion in cash, or $18 a share.

Four attorneys from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati represented Fremont-based 3PAR, which builds high-end systems that help companies store and manage data.
