SAN FRANCISCO Santa Clara-based textbook rental company Chegg Inc. will soon do more than help college students save money on course materials.
The company announced on Thursday that it’s acquired Mountain View-based CourseRank, a website founded in 2007 that lets college students rank and review their professors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Chegg is the number one online textbook rental company in the United States, while CourseRank is currently being used on 175 college and university campuses nationwide.
