SAN FRANCISCO — Attorneys from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton are advising Hewlett-Packard Co. on the company’s counteroffer to buy data storage company 3Par Inc. for $1.6 billion, an HP spokesperson has confirmed.
Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton’s team is led by corporate partner Benet O’Reilly, according to HP inhouse attorney Paul Porrini. Additionally, Drinker Biddle & Reath is advising the company on U.S. antitrust matters and Freshfields is advising on non-U.S. antitrust matters, Porrini said via e-mail, without identifying any individual lawyers from those firms.
