SAN FRANCISCO — McDermott, Will & Emery’s Silicon Valley office has built a solid reputation handling intellectual property and tax matters, but its corporate practice has struggled to gain momentum.

Now with M&A activity heating up once again in the Valley, McDermott is ramping up efforts to get in on the action. One step has been hiring long-time Silicon Valley corporate lawyer Lior Nuchi, who joined the office last week as a corporate partner from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.
