SAN FRANCISCO — William Coblentz, San Francisco real estate and business law practitioner and longtime name partner at Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass, died Monday after a short illness. He was 88.

Though real estate was his focus, Coblentz had friends in political circles, and cultivated ties in many of the area’s public agencies, civic organizations and in the newspaper and music industries.
