SAN FRANCISCO — Lawyers from Cooley in San Francisco represented Clearspring Technologies Inc. when the online content sharing company and several websites agreed Friday to settle class actions alleging that the sites used online-tracking tools without users’ knowledge.

Under the agreement , Clearspring, the online tracking firm Quantcast Corp. and other websites said they would not use flash cookies to store users’ web activity without adequate disclosure, unless the activity is related to Adobe System Inc.’s Flash program, which is used to show online videos.
