SAN FRANCISCO — Attorneys from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto and San Francisco have helped genetic testing instrument maker Affymetrix Inc. successfully fight patent infringement lawsuits brought by rival Illumina Inc.

On Wednesday, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin granted summary judgment for Santa Clara-based Affymetrix, saying it did not infringe the patents held by Illumina, and dismissed the suits.
