The U.S. Senate today confirmed one of three Bay Area federal judge nominees. Edward Davila, a Santa Clara Superior Court judge, won unanimous approval for an Article III judgeship in the Northern District.

President Obama first nominated Davila, 58, in May 2010 on the recommendation of Sen. Barbara Boxer. He’ll fill the seat created when San Francisco U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel took senior status.
