SACRAMENTO — A legislative committee today put the final touches on a package of cuts and fund shifts that is expected to offset a $200 million hit to the judiciary budget.

The branch will absorb most of the reductions proposed in the governor’s budget by tapping funds set aside for specific projects, not through courthouse closures or employee layoffs, according to figures provided by the Legislative Analyst’s Office.
