SAN FRANCISCO Attorneys from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in San Francisco helped BrightSource Energy Inc. raise $168 million in equity financing from both Google Inc. and NRG Solar for the world’s largest solar project under construction.
Global finance partners Mark Weitzel and Eric Stephens helped BrightSource develop a strategy to find the right investors for the 392-megawatt Ivanpah Solar Electric Generation System in the Mojave Desert. And then Weitzel and Stephens negotiated the term sheets and all of the agreements for both NRG and Google, Weitzel said.
