Founded in 1996, ShoreTel Inc. is a publicly traded telecom company that offers integrated voice, data and mobile communications over the Internet to businesses. Based in Sunnyvale, the company has offices in Austin, Texas, the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. ShoreTel has 600 employees and reported revenues of $51.6 million in the third quarter ending March 31. That figure was up 39 percent from the third quarter in 2010. The company is traded on Nasdaq as SHOR.
LEGAL TEAM AND OUTSIDE COUNSEL
Ava Hahn is vice president, general counsel and secretary. She joined the company in 2007 and remains its sole attorney in Sunnyvale. With growing revenues, Hahn predicts ShoreTel may soon expand its in-house staff. For the time being, however, Hahn handles the company’s corporate and securities work, including SEC filings, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and customer contracts. She oversees litigation but sends the bulk of that work out. Hahn, who reports to CEO and President Peter Blackmore, also works closely with the company’s business development and sales departments, as well as with its engineers, as research and development covers about half of the company’s staff.
