As almost anyone with an internet connection knows, Yahoo is one of the world’s largest digital media companies and among the leading providers of e-mail, search, and instant messaging services. As one of the most visited websites and search engines on the internet, Yahoo derives most of its revenue from advertising, including keyword search ads, and is a major provider of original content. Founded in 1995 by two Stanford University engineering graduates, Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO) reported revenues of $6.3 billion in 2010, down 2 percent from 2009, and net income of $1.2 billion, nearly double 2009′s profit. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company has 13,000 employees in 25 countries.
